In the 1960s Fashion Photography came of age, photographers became as famous as pop stars and key players on the Lonson scene. Italian director Michelangelo Antonioni based his film Blow-Up in the heart of that world, its central character being a hard working, handsome playboy photographer. The documentary takes a look at the reality behind that film of the Swinging Sixties and the characters that made it happen.
Through the first hand accounts of the models and photographers themselves, The Real Blow-Up examines the breaking down of barriers, the '60s cultural melting pot and the explosion of opportunity and creativity for those fortunate enough to be part of the scene.
Ultimately, everyone could be a celebrity - both behind and in front of the camera.
Aristocrats, musicians, models, actors and even gangsters mingled together in clubs and restaurants - a world captured by the decade's newest stars - the photographers.

The Ravers is an episode from the 1967 TV series "Man Alive". It features the Portsmouth based pop group Simon Dupree & The Big Sound who perform their single, "Day Time, Night Time" while the girls work themselves into a frenzy. The episode examines the groupies who stalk their pop star prey, it pushed the censorship boundaries of the time to the limits with its open discussion of sex among the 14-17 year old girls who proudly admit to how many pop stars they've had sex with, one recalling, "I was with the drummer of the Jeff Beck group for two hours!" In the documentary the group sign autograph books, arms, legs and breasts! Then there are the girls who don't want an autograph; they only want Simon...or any other pop star!
